WFC Promoter to Host Online Fan Forum

securedownload (1)WFC 30, a professional boxing event, and World Fighting Championship’s 30th event, will take place October 17th at the Belle of Baton Rouge in Louisiana.  Matt McGovern, 30 year old promoter and president of WFC is behind the popular fight series, which includes both boxing and MMA events.  McGovern, whose background includes the NBA, Nevada Wolf Pack and Mills Lane’s Let’s Get it On Promotions, is one of the nation’s youngest promoters.  The WFC is on the rise, with several boxing and MMA events already on the books for 2015.    

Tuesday, October 7th, McGovern will be hosting an “AMA” (Ask Me Anything) on the social networking site Reddit.  Media and fans can join in the conversation by visiting www.reddit.com/r/boxing at 1:00 p.m. PST on Tuesday, October 7th.  This is a unique opportunity for boxing fans to ask questions of McGovern.

The AMA will take place this Tuesday, October 7th  at 1:00 p.m. PST.    

What is Reddit?  What is an AMA?

Reddit is an online community comprised of topic-based “sub-reddits”.  An AMA (Ask Me Anything) is a question and answer forum designed for celebrities or people with interesting stories or careers to connect with fans and answer questions. McGovern’s AMA will take place in the boxing subreddit, located at www.reddit.com/r/boxing.  If you aren’t familiar with the AMA format, you can visit www.reddit.com/r/iama for examples of previous AMAs.

How do fans and media participate?

At 1:00 PST on Tuesday, fans and media can visit www.reddit.com/r/boxing to locate the AMA.  To ask questions or comment on answers, one must have an account on Reddit. There is a link to register on the upper-left hand side of the www.reddit.com/r/boxing page.
