Prichard Colon, Terrell WilliamsThe opening bout on the NBC telecast features two undefeated fighters; Prichard Colon vs. Terrell Williams
Terrell William(15-0-0 13 KOs) trained by Joe Goossen came to Fairfax Virginia to fight and upset the young Puerto Rican prospect Prichard Colon(16-1-0 13 KOs) and was successful in doing so making Colon quit before the start of the 12th round.
After speaking to the charismatic prospect Prichard Colon, it was apparent that he was excited but at the same time totally aware of the magnitude of the opportunity he had by being the co-main event on a PBC on NBC card.  Colon trained out of Puerto Rico for this camp under the guidance of Pedro Diaz, who was unhappy that his previous two fights were scheduled for six rounds, not ten like this fight today.
Although bolstering an impressive record of fourteen wins zero defeats with twelve knockouts prior to his bout today, Terrell Williams’s career has gone relatively unnoticed while fighting in local west coast cards. Being featured in the opening bout on terrestrial television is more than a step up or opportunity for the 31-year old Los Angles California native.  It is a once in a lifetime chance to leapfrog from unknown club fighter to potentially a national star.
Taking the background in consideration the fight started out with the first two rounds with Prichard Colon in control, landing a hard left look at will.  Third and fourth rounds the momentum began to change with Williams showing he can take Colon’s best punch, landing his piston-like right hand.   Round five colon out of frustration lost a point after intentionally landing a low blow.  Round 6 Williams again took over control again, but in round 7 Williams lost a questionable point for a punch in the back of the head.  Although colon showed heart in round 8, in round 9 Williams began to really hurt the young prospect dropping him twice.  The fight was ended before the start of the 10 round when, Prichard Colon failed to answer the bell.
