Last November Carlos “Chocorroncito” Buitrago came within an inch of realizing his dream of becoming a world champion when he took on Merlito Sabillo. That bout ended in a controversial draw and some months later the WBO announced that Buitrago was never the interim champion for the orginization. Now, Buitrago has another chance to put himself back where he wants to be.
It was announced at a press conference yesterday in Nicaragua that Buitrago would be fighting for the WBA 105 interim title on September 27th in Thailand. As for as the opponent goes, Freshmart Niyomtrong is being considered.
