806d17ea5-1Amir Khan is impatiently waiting like the rest of the world when it comes to the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao negotations. Khan wants Mayweather but if he can’t get a Mayweather fight, he issued a challenge to Manny Pacquiao. If he can’t get either, well then who knows, maybe he’ll fight Kell Brook.

Veteran trainer Joe Goossen is an Amir Khan fan and feels he has righted the ship.

“I think Amir Khan is going to give a lot of people trouble,” Goossen told ESnews. “I think he’s found his style in the ring. I think he’s made adjustments. He’s not throwing punches with reckless abandonment and not leaving himself vulnerable. “

Goossen believes a lot of that credit goes to his trainer, Virgil Hunter.

“Virgil’s doing a good job. Virgil’s really made Khan an athlete,” explained Goossen. “Khan’s got so many advantages, his height, movement, and reach. He’s aggressive by nature so if somebody forces him to fight from the inside, he knows how to do it. But I think he’s better off picking you apart from the outside.”

Goossen was asked how he would fair with Mayweather and Pacquiao. Goossen feels he needs a few more good wins to get people believing he can beat either if he ever gets the chance.

“I’m kind of an Amir Khan fan. He’s not an easy fight for anybody. That being said he’s going to have some more stunning wins to make people bang the drum for him. Mayweather and Pacquiao are winding up the whole show for themselves. I don’t know if Amir Khan is in their plans or gets the winner if they fight. But the loser is going to have think twice about continuing depending on how bad they lose. They both have been fighting a long time, its only so much blood you can squeeze out of them.”
