Farias was extremely upset that Rousey made the cover of The Ring Magazine which is considered the Bible of Boxing and Rousey is not even a boxer. Farias often took shots at Rousey on social media and would frequently call out the MMA fighter. With Rousey losing to Holly Holm, much of the talk from female boxers about quieted down and focus was put back on the top females in boxing.
So who has Farias set her sights on? It seems that Erica has her sights set towards the top of the women’s pound for pound food chain and has called out Cecilia Braekus (28-0 7 KO’s).
Braekus returned to the ring on February 27th after a one-year, four-month layoff when she took on and beat Chris Namus via unanimous decision. Prior to the Namus fight, Braekus fought hard and came out victorious in all of her fights but she gained the most notoriety when she took on and easily disposed of Mia St. John in 2013 and has since been regarded as one of the best in women’s boxing which is one of the reasons that Farias has called her out.
“Cecilia Braekus, you had the pleasure of returning to the ring. Don’t hide from me and accept the fight,” said Farias via social media.
