Life after boxing can leave a fighter with regrets and feelings of not accomplishing more in the ring. For some, the time away from the ring opens the door for them to try their hand in other ventures.

Mike Tyson’s Legends League is giving fighters over a certain age life into competing again and other retired Hall of Famers get a chance to restore old rivalries and compete in exhibition/ fantasy fights. Other fighters have moved on to compete in other forms of fighting for another chance at glory and the thrill/love of competing.

Ishe Smith has had not just a career full of ups and downs but has lived a life along the same path. He conquered his demons and pulled himself out of a dark place accomplishing his dream of being a world champion while having a career that lasted over 20 years.

Smith had one bout outside of the boxing your used to in 2019 and fought bare-knuckle for Valor Bare Knuckle which is run by Ken Shamrock. Smith fought on Valor’s only event to date but will get another shot at fighting bare-knuckle.

Joe Smith-Brown and Jim Freeman Dove both announced signing Smith to fight this July for BKB. The event will take place in London.

“Ex world champ ishe smith is now signed to fight bkbtm london o2,” stated  Brown via social media. “This sends a big message of the names we are attracting around the world!
