The 12-round fight will take place in South Africa in the spring (date to be announced shortly) between Thabiso “The Rock” Mchunu (17-1, 11 KOs) of South Africa and Ilunga “Junior” Makabu (18-1, 17 KOs) of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Mchunu, 26, is a southpaw who has won his last seven fights dating back to March 2012. In his last fight he successfully defended his NABF Cruiserweight Title against Garrett “The Ultimate Warrior” Wilson with a ten-round unanimous decision victory in September 2014.

Makabu, also a southpaw, has won 18 fights in row since suffering his only professional loss in his pro debut in 2008 (first round TKO). In his last fight he stopped Tamas Bajzath in the third round back in December 2014. He also has a stellar 94% (17 of 18) knockout-to-win ratio and has knocked out his last four opponents in a row.
