Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez and Juan “Loquito” Kantun faced off for the first time during a press conference on January 28th for their upcoming bout that will take place in Mexico.
This fight will mark Gonzalez’ sixth professional fight in Mexico, which has become a home away from home for the Nicaraguan fighter.
“God bless you all. Once again I am happy to be in Mexico,” said Gonzalez. “We will put on a terrific fight on February 15th. I will come and do my job just like I do in all of my fights and am confident I will leave with a victory.”
For Kantun this will be the biggest chance he will get to shine as a pro. He should technically have the advantage for fighting at 112 pounds for a longer period of time.
“I am happy to face a true world champion,” said Kantun. “I am ready for this fight. I trained well with my trainers. I have been training since November and December. I am a natural flyweight and I took this fight because I am a natural 112 pounder.”
The fight between Gonzalez and Kantun is taking place at the Palenque de la Feria Mesoamericana de Tapachulo in Chiapas, Mexico on February 15th and being brought to you by Zanfer Promotions.
