KellBrook2Two months ago Kell Brook proved to the world that he was more than just hype when he took on and beat Shawn Porter. Big things were expected for Brook including a ring return in December but all that was cut short when Brook was stabbed while on vacation leaving Brook’s near future up in the air.
Now, Brook is fine and anxious to return and the options for the Sheffield native are looking very good at the moment. A potential fight with Juan Manuel Marquez is possible but a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. is something Brook wants more and he believes he deserves it more than Amir Khan does. Speaking of Khan, his name has been thrown out there as an opponent for Brook which is something that Brook would love to happen with the winner being crowned the “king” of England and getting the right to face Mayweather.
“I am looking to be ready to fight again in February of next year,” said Brook. “People want to see Mayweather tested and I am unbeaten. I think that fight needs to happen. People are talking about him (Mayweather) and Khan but Khan has not even fought at welterweight. I think me and Khan should fight for the right to take on Mayweather, that is the obvious thing. Let’s see who the real king of England is even though we all know it is me. I am world champion, he’s (Khan) not. I want to put this to bed. I know what will happen in the fight.”
