Floyd Mayweather Sr.Tha Boxing Voice recently caught up with Floyd Mayweather Sr. and got his thoughts on Gennady Golovkin.

Floyd Sr. was asked what he thought about Golovkin as a fighter and  he responded by saying, “He ain’t a no
good fighter. He’s maybe a good banger but that’s it.” Floyd Sr. would also go on to say, “Anybody can punch.”

Golovkin’s rise to fame has done little to impress the father of the pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. He elaborated further on his opinion of the Kazakhstan slugger, “I say if a guy can punch, a guy can punch. That doesn’t mean he’s a good boxer or has a good style.” Sr. eluded to his son fighting Golovkin by saying, “It’s what ever Floyd wants to do with his career, but I’ll be in the corner to tell him what to do and make sure he wins that fight.

Floyd Sr. has become very vocal in recent months regarding his his sons career causing somewhat a riff between father and son. It will be interesting to see in the coming months what kind of changes Floyd makes to his team.
