The boxing action continues on Saturday, January 23 as PBC on FOX comes to STAPLES Center with an exciting prime time doubleheader featuring undefeated Danny “Swift” Garcia (31-0, 18 KOs) and former world champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (33-3-1, 18 KOs) in a 12-round welterweight showdown and undefeated rising star Sergeant Sammy “The Who Can Mexican” Vasquez (20-0, 14 KOs) against Los Angeles-native Aron Martinez (20-4-1, 4 KOs) in a welterweight battle that kicks off televised coverage at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

“I’m excited to be able to showcase my skills on January 19,” said James. “It’s extra motivation to have a very formidable opponent in front of me in Javier Molina. I can’t wait to give the fans a show.”

“This is a huge opportunity for me to fight at home and it’s extra motivating to fight in the same venue where I made my pro debut,” said Molina. “I’ve seen Jamal fight in the amateurs. We haven’t fought but we know each other well. I’m very thankful to be in this position and I plan on making the most of it.

“Los Angeles boxing fans are getting a great start to their New Year with these two stacked cards at Club Nokia and STAPLES Center,” said Tom Brown of TGB Promotions. “For those not in L.A., they will have the opportunity to enjoy all of the action on FS1, FOX Deportes and FOX.”

Tickets for the live event, which is promoted by TGB Promotions, are priced $50 and $35, not including applicable fees, and are on sale Monday, December 28 at noon PT. To purchase tickets visit AXS.com.

A tall welterweight at 6′ 2″, James is undefeated as a pro with victories over Wayne Martell, Angel Hernandez and Mohammed Kayongo to his name. The 27-year-old out of Minneapolis has had a big 2015 that began with victories over Michael Balasi and Daniel Sostre and culminated with a hard fought decision over Juan Carlos Abreu in September. He will look to keep that momentum going when he fights in California for the first time as a pro on January 19.

A 2008 U.S. Olympian, the 25-year-old Molina has an opportunity to make an impact in the welterweight division when he goes up against his stiffest test to date. He comes from a fighting family that includes his twin brother Oscar, a 2012 Mexican Olympian, and older brother Carlos. Fighting out of nearby Commerce, California, Molina stopped Lenwood Dozier in his last bout and has won eight fights in a row dating back to 2012.
