Luis Ramos Jr.A recharged, refocused and motivated, Californian lightweight contender, Luis Ramos Jr. signed a multi-year promotional contract with Top Rank®, the company that is lead by Hall of Fame promoter, Bob Arum.

Ramos Jr. (25-2, 10 KO’s), who is from Mexican and Guatemalan descent, but was born in Orange, California, is in the midst of a comeback and is riding an impressive two-bout winning streak, after a two-year inactivity period that he took after suffering back-to-back losses for the first time in his professional career and also losing his love for the sport.

“I feel very happy of where I am at right now. I am with a great organization that knows how to handle their fighters. They know what they are doing, and that is why they have been in the sport for so much years,” said Ramos Jr., who received other big news the day he signed his new promotional contract. “The same day I signed, my wife announced that a baby was on its way. Now I have to work harder,” affirmed the 27-year old.

“I want to thank my manager Frank Espinoza. Thanks to him I am once again with a big promoter,” assured the fighter who has victories on his record against quality opposition, like veterans: Ray Beltran and Daniel Attah.

“This is a great opportunity for Luis. He is very excited of fighting for Top Rank and also of his dream of fighting for a world title,” declared manager Frank Espinoza.

“My dream is to fight for a world title. That is my dream, and I know I’m closer to fighting for a championship, but I still feel I need a couple of more fights before that,” acknowledge the lightweight fighter. “When the opportunity comes I am going to thank the champion that gives me the opportunity to fight him because thanks to him I will give a better future to my family. For my family I will come out victorious against whoever gives me the chance,” expressed the boxer that lives in Santa Ana, CA.

After getting back the competitive fire, the hunger to win and his love for the sport, Ramos Jr., assures he is a new boxer and is focused on making up for the time he lost.

“With my new trainer, everything is going great. Now I’m a more intelligent fighter; I move more, counterpunch, and I also box well. Before I was too aggressive. I only liked going toe to toe and that cost me in my losses. Before I didn’t think at all. I was just aggressive,” declared the lefty boxer that trains with Manny Robles, who also is the trainer of unbeaten Mexican sensation, Oscar Valdez.

“Little by little I have recuperated from the time I lost. There are a lot of good fighters in my division that I would like to face. I am ready to face the best. I love this sport,” finalized saying Ramos Jr.

Details about Ramos Jr. return to the ring will be announced soon.
