Gennady Golovkin’s trainer Abel Sanchez sits down for an interview with Tha Boxing Voice to explain how a fight with Canelo is just one piece of the puzzle toward Golovkin’s larger goal of unifying the titles at 160 pounds.
“It’s not really Canelo that we’re after. We’re after the WBC belt,” Sanchez said. “Gennady has made it clear to the team that he wants to be unified champion, and Canelo holds the WBC belt.”
