Angel Garcia has become one of the most popular and most hated trainers in the sport of boxing today. He gets a lot of admirers for his truthful out outspokenness  The  thing is he’s usually right. The man has picked the round in which his son’s fight would end against his last two opponents straight.

ThaBoxingVoice.com caught up with Angel to discuss Richard Schaefer purposed 140lb tournament. The tournament will put some of the top fighters in the division against each other giving fight fans a treat to say the least. The proposal will match current Ring Magazine, WBC, and Super WBA Champion Danny Garcia against long time veteran and former champion “Super” Zab Judah. As well as Lucas Matthysse to face current IBF Champion Lamont Peterson. The winner of each fight to meet in another battle that will have fight fan’s mouth watering.

The winner of that will get the goose that laid the Golden Boy egg in Amir King Khan. “The thing is this, that’s all rumors. I haven’t heard anything about that. I don’t know if that’s Richard [Schaefer]  saying that but Al [Haymon] hasn’t told me about that. The thing is this, when Danny beats Zab [Judah] and Matthysse and Peterson whoever wins out of those two. I don’t know about Danny and whoever wins out those two because the thing is this, how do you get to sit on the throne like you the king of the world, when you not even the champ?”  Garcia explained.

The matter in which Angel speaks of is the fact that since Khan has lost to Danny Garcia, he has taken the soft route in his come back fighting Carlos Molina a career light weight, and now he’s schedule to face Julio Diaz, a tough but long in the tooth fighter. Who is being forced to come down to the catch weight of 143lb in order to take the pay day that comes with facing Khan.

Angel in no way is suggesting that they are opposed to facing the winner of the proposed matchup scheduled for May 18, he just feels that it should be Khan who faces the winner, and the winner of that should face the true champion of the division, Danny Garcia. That is if everything goes according to plan in his fight against Zab Judah on April 27.
