hi-res-7795e111aa441fedfbdaffb96dac7f5e_crop_northIn the opening two rounds Taylor came out fast and was putting a lot of pressure on Broner. However, Taylor started to slow down in the 3rd round. Even though Taylor kept coming forward, he simply was not throwing nearly enough punches that he was in the previous rounds. Broner noticed this and took advantage of it. In the 4th round Broner tried to take the fight out of Taylor by throwing vicious body shots which seemed to have an effect on him. A similar trend continued in round 5 but Taylor picked it back up and made a comeback in the 6th by pressing Broner and increasing his punch output. Taylor continued to stay competitive in the 7th round as well.

However, Taylor was not able to hold on to his form and allowed Broner to get back in the fight. The last three rounds were entertaining rounds which featured great action from both fighters. Since the fight was a close one, both fighters were looking to make a big statement in the championship rounds but it was Broner who managed to separate himself from his opponent and capped the night off with a beautiful knockdown within the last 20 seconds of last round.

This was a tough fight for Broner and he truly had to work for tonight’s win. Both fighters put in a tremendous amount of effort into this fight and both should be commended for their efforts as they provided fans with twelve entertaining rounds. As of now the immediate future once again looks bright for Broner and I expect him to be matched up in a big fight soon. As for Taylor, he put on a good show and fought very hard and I as a fan would love to see him again. With all that said, Adrien Broner improves to (29-1 22 KO’s) while Emanuel Taylor drops to (18-3 12KO’s).
