Bethlehem, PA: Yesterday, heavyweight Tomasz “Goral” Adamek (49-2-0, 29 KOs) opened his workout at World Boxing Gym in Jersey City, NJ to the media and the public for an inside look at his training camp as he prepares to face Vyacheslav “Czar” Glazkov (16-01-1, 11 KOs) at Sands Resort and Casino in Bethlehem, PA on March 15th. Adamek, 37, was originally scheduled to face Czar, 29, this past November but had to postpone the fight just days before due to the flu. Now the much anticipated match-up will air on NBCSN Fight Night starting at 9:00 PM ET along with the ten round co-feature of Light Heavyweights Isaac “Golden Boy” Chilemba (21-2-2, 9 KOs) vs. Denis “The Pirate/Drago’s Son” Grachev (13-2-1, 8 KOs).

Adamek was as confident as he has ever been in front of the media yesterday. He attributes his high confidence level to preparation and experience, “Verification in the ring is everything. We can talk, talk, talk but it doesn’t mean nothing. When I am healthy I am going to the ring to make a good show, show my talents and make a good fight.” Roger Bloodworth, Tomasz’s trainer said, “His confidence level is good. It’s a 10. If it was less than a 10 he wouldn’t be Tomasz.”
Bloodworth also said Tomasz does not get excitable, “Tomasz is pretty level all the time. Especially around fight time. He is pretty strong in his faith. He doesn’t seem to get too excited or too nervous. He’s just Tomasz.” But Bloodworth was quick to clarify that Tomasz’s even temperament should never be mistaken for complacency, “Tomasz is easy to work with. He trains hard but he is also a perfectionist. You wouldn’t think that because he jokes around a lot but he is a perfectionist. It’s easy to work with him.”

Adamek will face a tough challenger in the undefeated Glazkov and he is not underestimating the 2008 Olympic Bronze Medalist. “He is a tough boy. I expect a tough fight because he is younger and he wants to win. I want to win too. Who is going to be smarter is going to win.” Bloodworth provided this analysis of the young Ukrainian, “He is not all that much taller than Tomasz. He’s a little bit rangy. He is a pressure fighter. I expect him to come in and try to knock Tomasz out. That’s what he tries to do. It should make for an exciting fight.”
Because the fight was postponed from its originally scheduled November date Tomasz had to field a lot of questions about the illness that sidelined him the last time to which “Goral” replied, “I am only a man; I am not a robot. I was ready but I got the flu. Thank you God I am 37; I made a lot of wars but I am still healthy. I am ready for next fight.”

One thing is for sure, Tomasz promises to put on a great show. He said, “I wish a good fight; a tough fight. Every time when I am going to the ring I try to make a good show for my fans. Boring fights don’t give me nothing. Only tough fights give a good performance and people love that.”
The 37 year old veteran from Zywiec, Poland also fielded questions about how much he has left and being at the crossroads of his career, “Every fight is important. When I win every fight gives me a bigger position in boxing business. I am going to win because my goal to is to be heavyweight champion. This is the last chance in my career.”
Main Events’ CEO Kathy Duva added, “We have less than 100 tickets left for the March 15th show and all of the $55 and ringside seats are sold out. If you want to see this one in person, you better get your tickets now!”
