Carlos “Chocorroncito” Buitrago last stepped in the ring on July 20th in Mexico when he faced off against Julian Yedras earlier this summer in his second bout outside of his native Nicaragua. Buitrago will continue to fight outside of his country and expand his fan-base in just a couple months from now.
It was announced at the WBO Convention in Budapest, Hungary that Buitrago will fight to unify titles against WBO 105 pound regular champion Merlito Sabillo from the Philippines on November 29th in Dubai. The event is being put on by ALA Promotions.
Sabillo won the interim title that Buitrago currently holds in March of this year when faced off against Luis de la Rosa. Sabillo won the regular championship on July 13th when he faced and beat Jorle Estrada of Colombia who faced and lost to Buitrago back in 2010.
