In an article broke early today, Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports reported that current Jr. Middleweight titlist Carlos Molina have been arrested and is being held at the Clark County Jail in Las Vegas. Molina reportedly was arrested for outstanding warrants that were issued by the state of Wisconsin one of which was issued for failing to register as a sex offender.
In 2005 Iole reports that Molina pled no contest to a charge for second-degree sexual assault of a child. Also according to Iole, Molina has been placed on an immigration hold. Molina was born in Mexico but currently takes residents in the United States.
Richard Schaefer, president of Golden Boy Promotions said that he expects Carlos Molina to be released and his title defense against Jermall Charlo is still schedule to take place.
