Fireworks are expected during the Canelo – Smith fight (card is still going on at the time this was written) but q bombshell was just dropped in between the opening bout and the second bout of the televised fight card on DAZN. A rematch between Juan Francisco Estrada and Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez has been confirmed for March 13th, 2021. The fight will be broadcast on DAZN.
The two fighters squared off the first time in December of 2012 in what could have been Fight Of The Year. Gonzalez emerged the victor in a twelve round war and a rematch has been in high demand for nearly a decade.
Since they first faced off both fighters have done amazing things without facing each other. The two have also been part of a four-man round-robin which also includes Carlos Cuadras and Sor Rungvisi. Each fighter has taken at least one loss.
The rematch between “El Gallo” and “Chocolatito” will be a title unification bout with The Ring, WBC, and WBA titles on the line.
