On another exciting episode of ESPN2’s Friday Night Fights out of Las Vegas, Nevada, super bantamweight brawlers Chris Avalos and Drian Francisco go head to head in a 10 round showdown. With other exciting fighters and champions such as Rigondeaux, Donaire, Frampton, Santa Cruz, and Darchiniyan amongst others, the winner of the main event will jump up a few ranks in what is the most talented division under 140lbs.

For Chris Avalos (21-2 16KO’s) of Lancaster,CA, the road to the top has had a couple of bumps with current IBF titlist Jonathan Romero and the popular Christopher Martin. Having the size advantage in most of his fights, the 5’7” fighter has a 67” wing span that when used properly, leaves his opponents behind his jab and on the deck. Like most exciting fighters, Avalos is vulnerable in that he likes to brawl and one-up his opponent which is when he made his losses harder than he should have, with all of his physical attributes and boxing skill he will need to box and bang at his own range and stop himself from getting lured in to a brawl in Sin City.

Filipino import Drian Francisco (24-1-1 19KO’s) of Batangas, Philippines; is making his third appearance outside of his native home and the second in the United States. Known for his no holds barred in-fighting style, Francisco has stopped 73% of his opponents and looks to add another win to his current four fight win streak. In a decision loss to Tepparith Kokietgym he touched the canvas against the tough Thai fighter but fought back hard to earn close scores on the judge’s scorecards. Like other Pilipino fighters, Manny Pacquiao is surely a role model on how to explode on the scene and become a champion and with a win over Avalos in spectacular fashion, the dream could possibly come true in front of a worldwide audience.
