Currently riding an 11-fight win streak, WBA world featherweight champion Jesus Cuellar talks to Tha Boxing Voice about his upcoming title defense against Abner Mares (29-2-1, 15 KOs).
Cuellar (28-1, 21 KOs) says he is unfazed by Mares’ partnership with accomplished trainer Robert Garcia. The subplot? Garcia trained Cuellar until recently. Cuellar will have to overcome a very skilled fighter and a trainer who knows his every tendency when he gets in the ring with Mares on June 25 at the Barclays Center. The fight is the co-feature on the Keith Thurman-Shawn Porter card.
