Jose "Chelo" GonzalezAfter the Ugandan Sharif Bogere had refused to come to fight in Puerto Rico, world ranked Jose “Chelo” Gonzalez, from Puerto Rico, officially, will face Mexican Marvin “Cachorro” Quintero in another Puerto Rico vs Mexico duel in “The War”, headlined by the junior lightweight champion of the World Boxing Organization (WBO), Orlando “Siri” Salido facing former two-time world champion at 130 pounds, Roman “Rocky” Martinez, on April 11, at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico Jose Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Now, the card presented by PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP) in association with Zanfer Promotions, which will air on “Pay Per View” in Puerto Rico, United States and Canada on all systems Cable TV and Satellite, will have three battles between Puerto Ricans and Mexicans.
“Finally, Bogere didn’t want to travel to fight in Puerto Rico, so we were talking and got an agreement with the people of Marvin Quintero, who had been mentioned recently as the new rival for Chelo,” said Peter Rivera, vice president of PRBBP. “We got a good Mexican fighter in Quintero to face Gonzalez, so now we have three great battles between Puerto Rico and Mexico for April 11.”

In this clash scheduled to 10 rounds, Gonzalez (23-1, 18 KOs) will defend his WBO Latino lightweight title against Quintero (26-5, 22 KOs). The Puerto Rican won the belt last December 20, 2014, when he beat Antonio Joao Bento by TKO in two rounds. Gonzalez is ranked #7 by the WBO in the lightweight division.

While, Quintero, who lost a split decision in 2012 against then International Boxing Federation (IBF) 135 pounds champion Miguel “Titere” Vazquez, is coming off a second-round TKO win over Carlos Mario Sanchez on September 27, 2014.

Headlining the show, Siri Salido (42-12-2, 29 KOs) will defend his WBO junior lightweight belt versus former champion Rocky Martinez (28-2-2, 17 KOs). Also, former Olympian and world title challenger McWilliams Arroyo (15-2, 13 KOs) will fight against former world champion Ramon Garcia Hirales (20-5-1, 12 KOs) for the WBO Latino flyweight title.
