After Artur Beterbiev’s fight last Saturday all eyes will be in the upcoming bout between Joseph Smith Jr. against another Russian, Maxim Voslov.  The two were originally slated to fight around a month ago but Voslov had tested positive for Covid19  which not only threw a wrench into Smith’s boxing plans but also his personal plans. The two will now face off on April 10th.

Should Smith win a future showdown with Beterbiev would be the logical choice. It’s a fight that Smith would welcome as he sees the Russian fighter as one-dimensional but with power.

Julian Williams recently watched Beterbiev’s latest fight which took place on ESPN against Adam Deines and believes it’s a good fight. A close fight. How close? 55/45  in Beterbiev’s favor.

“Just watched Beterbiev fight on ESPN,” Tweeted Williams. “He’s a physically strong technician but at the top level styles make fights and [a] rugged, dirty, grimy  Joe Smith punches hard enough and I think is physically strong enough to be a real threat.  55/45 fight in Beterbiev favor.” Should the fight happen it will be Beterbiev’s best opponent since his fight with Tavoris Cloud.
