On March 1st KO Boxing will play host at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta when they present their card titled “Mandatory Defense” which will feature one of the world’s top female fighters Jelena Mrdjenovich (31-16-1, 16 KO’s) as she takes on Fatuma Zarika (24-7-1, 14 KO’s) from Kenya in a super featherweight bout.
On the undercard we will see some up and coming Canadian fighters put to the test as they take the next step in their careers against fighters that have more experience.
Adam “A-bomb” Trupish (11-1, 8 KO’s) will take on Martin “Azteca” Avila (14-13, 7 KO’s) of Mexico in a 6 round light middleweight bout.
“Irish” Cam O’Connell (5-0-1, 4 KO’s) will take on Pedro “Vaquero” Navarrete of Mexico in a 6 round lightweight bout.
Cody Reis (1-0, 1 KO) will take on Matt Jelly (0-1) in a 4 round middleweight bout.
Lukasz Wierzbicki (1-0) of Poland will face off against Antonio Dos Santos (2-7, 1 KO) in a rematch of their bout that took place almost one year ago in a 4 round welterweight bout.
Josh Wagner (2-0, 1 KO) will take on Luke Moore (1-0) in a 4 round light middleweight bout.
Jama Gaiye Mohamad (2-1) of Zambia will take on Eric Huang in Huang’s pro debut in a 4 round bantamweight bout.
Angel Anderson and Sheena Kaine will make their pro debut against each other in a four round lightweight bout.
