If you’re New York Knicks or basketball fan, you know that catch phrase belongs to longtime announcer Marv Albert. Boxing fans in the 1980’s also remember Marv Albert from the days he used to call boxing as well. He’ll be the blow by blow announcer for the 11 cards for the NBC “Premier Boxing Champions” series with Ray Leonard as the analyst and Al Michaels as the host of the Al Haymon cards.

“I’m so thrilled to be part of boxing’s prime-time return to NBC, where I’ve had the good fortune to have been ringside for the call of so many exciting moments,” Albert said.

The Series on NBC debuts with a doubleheader from Las Vegas when Keith Thurman squares off against Robert Guerrero. In that broadcast will include a co-feature that pits Adrien Broner against John Molina.

Albert is known for his dramatic calls throughout many sports and will be bringing that passion to the boxing fan.

“Marv’s expertise and big-event voice make him the ideal choice to call boxing’s return to prime-time broadcast television,” said Sam Flood, NBC Sports’ executive producer. “Through the years, Marv has had many memorable boxing calls and will now add his passion to the ‘PBC on NBC.'”
