Mauricio Lara And Josh Warrington Set To Do Battle A Second Time

Earlier this year we saw one of the biggest upsets in boxing when Mauricio Lara took on and stopped Josh Warrington. It’s a fight that does not sit fresh in my mind and it feels like it happened long ago but it was a hell of a fight.

A quick refresher on the fight. Lara hurt Warrington bad in the fourth and the fight could have been called off instead it went for five more rounds and Warrington took a lot of punishment. Lara ended up getting the stoppage in the ninth round.

It was a great night for Lara as it was a career changing fight. It also was a bitter night because Warrington vacated his world title not too long before the fight took place.

The two fighters have not fought since their first encounter but a rematch is set to take place. They will battle it out on September 4th at Headingley Stadium in Leeds, England according to Mike Coppinger.

It will be interesting to see how things go the second time around. Will Warrington fight smarter or did Lara take too much out of the Brit with the severe pounding he gifted upon him?
