While a lot of the hoopla behind Mayweather and Pacquiao has died down some. Floyd Mayweather Sr.’s comments regarding Pacquiao’s performance continues on.
In an interview with OnTheRopesBoxing.com , Sr. continued his assault.
“I’m gonna be truly honest with you, I didn’t even see the fight, I never did. I heard that he got knocked down six times, something like that, nine times somebody said, five times. I don’t really know how many times he got knocked down,” stated Mayweather Sr. “I ain’t saying he’s better because he knocked down some nobody. Floyd knocked Diego Corrales about six times and Diego Corrales was a good fighter. Floyd knocked him down about six times. It’s only obvious that if they fight, I’m on my sons side so there’s no other way to look at that but one way. I wouldn’t be looking his way just to be looking, but whatever my son said about it, I don’t believe Pacquiao can whoop him anyways, simple as that.”
Regarding his rival trainer in Freddie Roach, Mayweather’s Sr. also didn’t hold his words back.
“I don’t know. I’m not saying because something’s wrong with Freddie but I’m not saying it’s because of Freddie, it’s because of them. It’s them feeling sorry for Freddie and that’s where all that bullshit is coming around,” explained Mayweather Sr.
Sr. also feels he doesn’t get the credit he deserves when it comes to being a great trainer.
“It don’t mean nothing to me. They can do what they want to do, they give it to Freddie Roach all the time and he can’t fucking train no damn nobody. Let’s be for real, you can put us both on stage and you’ll find out who’s the best. He’s nowhere near me, he’s not even in the same class, nowhere near. But like I said before, they’ve been giving him all the accolades but I don’t give a damn. You got to go through all that bullshit to get a fucking trophy? Fuck them, I ain’t thinking about them.”
