Shane MosleySources have confirmed to Tha Boxing Voice.com that Shane Mosley has indeed considered his options for a replacement opponent if a Florida judge rules in favor of Don King and sidelines Ricardo Mayorga from his August 29th PPV fight.

King has maintained from the beginning that Mayorga is still under contract, and he is the Nicaraguan’s rightful promoter. King says he never signed off on the Mosley fight and promised to stop the fight from happening.

However, the fight isn’t completely off the table as of yet, and Shane is hopeful that his team of lawyers can pull off a miracle at the 11th hour. The problem is Mosley won’t get a decision either way until next week, which is fight week, leaving him little time to arrange a suitable replacement.

There is no guarantee that Mosley will indeed attempt to stage the card with or without Mayorga. Reports suggest that there are two names being mentioned within the camp that would offer a suitable replacement within the confines of a short window.

Still, the likelihood of the card being canceled completely remains probable.

There is no word on what fighters are being considered, there is no word on whether the card will remain on PPV, and there is no official word from Shane on the matter. But Mosley did tell TMZ.com that his priority is to save the fight, admitting that it would be a longshot.

It is difficult to imagine Mosley salvaging the card, especially if he hopes to draw the same attention worthy of keeping it a PPV attraction. The build up to Mosley-Mayorga, which would be a rematch of their 2008 clash, has gone accordingly. There are plenty of fans that support the fight and the attention from celebrities and star athletes has helped the fight’s cause.
