The world title bout between Jelena Mrdjenovich and Erika Cruz has been elevated to the main event of Ring City USA after heavyweight Jermaine Franklin tested positive for Covid19.
Mrdjenovich, who resides in Edmonton and is originally from the Northwest Territories has been a world champion for 15 years in a career that has lasted over 18 years. The last time Mrdjenovich lost a fight was back in 2015 and has since gone on to win 6 fights with one draw. Her last fight was on Ring City USA in a hell of a scrap against Iranda Paola Torres.
Cruz is still very young in her career and has only suffered one loss which happened in her second fight back in 2016. Her last bout took place a couple of months back where she won a lopsided decision.
The winner of this bout is expected to fight Amanda Serrano. Serrano believes a fight with Cruz would be easier to make as a fight with Mrdjenovich has been difficult. The reasons for that vary and each side have their own version but what you choose to believe is up to you.
