Victor Ortiz has done well for himself inside the ring since his career began in 2004. He was dubbed the future of boxing and was going to be a big crossover star and he has accomplished a lot in his career. He became world champion, made some songs, has his own cologne and an underwear line. Bottom line, he has made millions in his career.

On January 30th Ortiz suffered his third loss in a row via second round KO to veteran Luis Collazo. Prior to that Ortiz retired in-between rounds after suffering a broken jaw at the hands of Josesito Lopez and about a year before that was knocked out by Floyd Mayweather.

Oscar De La Hoya who promotes Ortiz has advised Ortiz to call it a career after the KO loss.

” I really feel Victor Ortiz should call it a day and enjoy his young life,” said De La Hoya via Twitter.

Should Ortiz stick around it would take a lot to get back to where he once used to be and would most likely be a name opponent/gatekeeper for young up and coming fighters.
