It has been over half a year since Ray Beltran has stepped into the ring but the tough fighter from Sinaloa, Mexico has kept busy training waiting to take the next step in his career since a controversial draw against lightweight champion Ricky Burns.
After Burns opted to not have an immediate rematch with Beltran and face Terrance Crawford instead, Beltran was a rumored opponent for a fair share of fighters and even considered moving up in weight to 140 pounds in search of a challenge against anyone, Ruslan Provodnikov included.
Earlier today Beltran signed a contract to make it official for his next fight which will take place on the undercard of Manny Pacquiao vs. Tim Bradley 2 on April 12th. Beltran is slated to take on tough Puerto Rican slugger Roman “Rocky” Martinez in a lightweight battle that is guaranteed to be a war and get the winner into position for a possible title fight.
