On April 12th Polish boxing prospect Lukasz Wierzbicki (3-0) headlined a five fight card in Calgary, Alberta, Canada titled “Polish Punchout” and shutout his opponent Lee Laquete (3-3, 3 KO’s) in their six round bout. From the opening bell Wierzbicki took control and began opening up on Laquette. Laquette had a hard time connecting on Wierzbicki throughout the fight and was unable to get his offense going. This lasted throughout the fight. Wierzbicki won a unanimous decision with all the judges’ scorecards reading 60-54.
The co-main event featured Gary Kopas (4-7-2, 1 KO) and Ty MacDougall (2-4-1, 1 KO) in an all action bout which marked the third contest between the two fighters who hold a victory over one another. Neither fighter felt the satisfaction of a victory and settled for a draw with all judges’ scorecards reading 57-57.
Up and coming welterweight prospect Josh Wagner (4-0, 3 KO’s) was impressive as he battered Steve Conkin (4-8-1) to a fourth round TKO.
Behrang Yousefi (1-0) won his professional debut when he faced off against Ted Reno (3-9-2).
Keegan Oliver (1-0) win a split decision over Todd Molineaux (0-1). Scorecards read: 40-36, 39-37, 37-39.
