twoWith Brandon Rios and Mike Alvarado due to meet for the 3rd time in the coming weeks, the boxing world has been back and forth on who will come out on top in the trilogy. Rios, had an all out war with Alvarado back in 2012 before stopping him in the 7th round of their fight of the year performance. Fast forward a few months later and we’re in 2013 in Las Vegas where the 2nd fight took place. In another action packed fight, Alvarado strolled to a unanimous decision win to even out the series. Right after the fight, Rios made clear he wanted a 3rd fight. Holding up 3 fingers at the crowd and calling Alvarado out, telling him he’ll gladly go to Denver. Though it didn’t happen right away as both fighters had 2 more fights in between, with neither one being in their favor aside from a DQ win for Rios against Diego Chaves back in August. 2015 is here and we have the 3rd installment in the Rios-Alvarado series.

In a interview done by Luis Sandoval of FightHype.com, Rios’ trainer Robert Garcia expresses his opinion on the fight. “We’re ready, Brandon’s training hard, sparring hard, we have good sparring partners. The conditioning is there you know, we definitely know its not going to be an easy fight but we’re getting ready for it.”

The fight is set to take place in Alvarado’s home of Denver, Colorado. As the first one was in Rios’ backyard of Carson, California. Garcia explains the only thing they’re worried about is the high altitude. “The high altitude could be a factory, but thats why we are leaving early. We’re going to be there 2 weeks before the fight, get used to the high altitude but besides that, I think the fight is going to be the same fight in Denver, LA or in Vegas. They’re going to fight. They’re both going to give the fans what they want to see.”

Sandoval asked Garcia if he wanted this 3rd fight, being that they each had a win over one another and what he thought would be the key to beating Alvarado again. “Definitely, it just had to happen you know. It wasn’t just me you know. We didn’t really know it was going to happen that soon, but its good for us, good for the fans, TV, and everyone is going to love it. We’re going to be in great shape. Brandon’s already hurt him. Brandon has already stopped him and hurt him pretty bad. Alvarado stunned Brandon a little but it wasn’t really that bad, so I think we have that advantage, Brandon just has to be in shape for 12 tough rounds.”
