Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez returned home to Nicaragua yesterday in bright spirits as he was greeted by loved ones as he walked through the airport terminal after his KO victory over Juan “Loquito” Kantun but his work is not yet over.
“I am very happy to be in my country again,” said a jetlagged Gonzalez. “Thank God I won and I was able to represent my Nicaraguan people who support me whenever I fight. It’s good for me to keep fighting. My managers are doing a good job. My next fight is close. It takes place on April 6th in Japan so tomorrow (today) I will return to the gym and resume working out because I want to be in my top condition for that fight and hopefully in August I can face the WBC flyweight champion Akira Yaegashi.”
