Recently, BoxingScene.com reported that Roman Gonzalez is looking for a one million dollar payday should he rematch Juan Francisco Estrada at any point this year which has left boxing fans scratching their heads and believing that Gonzalez is pricing himself out of a highly anticipated bout, but that is far from the case.
Earlier today I had a brief conversation with Gonzalez manager Carlos Blandon who clarified the situation to make sure people know the truth. “No [Gonzalez is not seeking one million], said Blandon. “He is seeking 500k [for he and Estrada each].”
So Gonzalez is in fact not looking for a million dollars for himself but for he and Estrada to earn what they deserve for the caliber of fight they would put on.
