Gervonta Davis cemented himself as a bonafide star on Halloween with his spectacular one-punch uppercut knockout of Leo Santa Cruz. Whether you were rooting for him or not, he was spectacular in the way he closed out the fight, and even if you did not watch the fight chances are you saw the knockout as it went viral. It truly was a spectacle.
There are several big names out there that Davis can fight to further himself as a star and one of those fighters has called him out.
Before the fight happened, lightweight sensation Ryan Garcia tweeted that Tank has the fight in the bag and he is pulling for Tank to win because he wants to be on the opposite side of the ring in a showdown between two of boxings youngest stars. If you thought that knockout was enough to deter Garcia he made sure to clarify it wasn’t.
“You’re outta your mind if you think that makes me waiver,” stated Garcia via Twitter. “It’s my turn next and then it’s on!!! LETS GO!”
Should Garcia when his upcoming fight in December against Luke Campbell then there is a strong possibility that this fight can be made if the promoters can work with each other but that has yet to be determined.
