Dejan Zlaticanin pulled off the upset over Ivan Redkach in a 12 round WBC lightweight eliminator on the ShoExtreme prelims which featured the undercard for tonight’s Wilder-Molina headliner on ShowTime Championship Boxing. It was a fun fight to watch, but Redkach seemed almost completely caught off guard from the moment the fight began.

Zlaticanin made the most of his punches and took an early lead, at least momentum wise. Redkach was definitely busier in the fight, but Zlaticanin threw more power punches and went in their hoping he could chip off bigger pieces of Redkach as the fight wore on.

Redkach was starting to turn the fight around and had his best round of the fight in the 3rd, but Zlaticanin came back even stronger in the 4th as he stalked his opponent with precise power shots. Redkach and Zlaticanin, both fighting out of the southpaw stance, were sizing each other up when Redkach got caught with a quick right hand that sent him backwards to the ropes.

Redkach tried to hide the fact that he was stunned, but Zlaticanin caught him with a big left that floored Redkach to the canvas. Redkach made it to his feet, but Zlaticanin swarmed him and threw flurries until the referee stopped the fight.

In the first ShoExtreme prelim fight, Julian “J-Rock” Williams stopped Arman Ovsepyan in the 6th round of their scheduled 10.

Williams dominated from the opening bell and now he will hopefully get the meaningful fight he deserves. Perhaps a bout between the two most avoided junior middleweights in the world in Williams and WBO titlist Demetrius Andrade.
