“Stone Cold” Steve Austin was asked about the Mayweather-Pacquiao superfight on the most recent episode of his podcast and as expected, “The Texas Rattlesnake” did not sugarcoat his answer. He called it as he sees it and Pacquiao fans are not going to be pleased.
As a longtime fan of combat sports, it was only natural that someone would end up asking him about this Saturday’s fight. Austin was so certain about the outcome that he says he’s not even willing to drop $100 to see the fight play out.
“Am I gonna throw down some money to watch Manny Pacquiao take on Floyd Mayweather? I tell you what, I’m gonna bypass on spendin my hundred bucks because I think uhhh… I think Floyd Mayweather is gonna handily win this fight.”
And before you think that “Stone Cold” is playing favorites with fellow one-time WWE superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr., he proclaimed that he would love to see the underdog, Manny Pacquiao pull off the upset.
“I’d love to see Pacquiao win this thing and upset Floyd Mayweather but it just ain’t gonna happen. Mayweather Has so much talent, he’s so damn quick and fast… I mean he’s had the career that he’s had… and that’s with all due respect to Manny Pacquiao… he’s a legend in his own country and around the world.”
Has Stone Cold ever sounded unsure of himself? In less than one minute, I went from thinking Mayweather-Pacquiao would be a close fight to thinking that it’s not even worth watching. I’m going to have to try to forget about all of this by Saturday.
If you were wondering why Stone Cold was so sure that Mayweather would come out on top, he kept his reasoning short and sweet.
“Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather is simply too dynamic.”
And that’s the bottom line, because Stone Cold said so!
