Today on TBV’s Sunday radio show, Tom Loeffler who is the promoter of K2 and Gennady Golovkin, was asked a slew of questions regarding GGG vs. Daniel Jacobs and GGG vs. Canelo Alvarez.

One question posed by co-host Boxing MD was to the effect of, “when the original contract, rumored to be a flat-fee offer of $10 million, was offered from Golden Boy Promotions to Golovkin, was the weight for 160lbs.?”

Loeffler responded with, “…with all the negotiations with Eric [Gomez], the weight has never been an issue, and it was at 160lbs.” This is finally confirmation that Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin will most likely be at the full weight limit of 160lbs. instead of a catch-weight.

Golovkin vs. Jacobs will go down at Madison Square Garden on March 18th on HBO PPV, and there will be no rematch clause.
