One of the best fight cards that Baton Rouge has seen in recent years is about to be underway in the Capital City. Tonight, a bigger, stronger Travis Scott (18-0, 4 KO’s) makes his ring return in his first bout in 2015. Hoping to add another win to his unblemished 18-0 record, Scott intends to show the world that he is ready for the big names in the middle and super middleweight divisions when he faces Zane Marks (17-7 10 KO’s). Both Marks and Scott, his former teammate, are from the area, so spectators should expect a packed house when the first bell tolls.
In the co-main event, Justin Thomas (12-1, 6 KO’s) faces Virginia’s Joshua Robertson (7-9, 2 KO’s) Thomas, who began boxing at the age of 23, had an extensive amateur career, highlighted by a win at the Houston Golden Gloves. The fighter had moved to Houston to train, but returned to Baton Rouge in 2011 to care for his mother after she was in an accident.
Also on the card, Chris Singleton faces Ronald Rivas, Henry Allen makes his debut versus Devin Parker, Randy Billot faces Harris Tucker, and Cole Crumpler faces Chris Lowe.
WFC Founder and Promoter Matt McGovern expects a sold out event. “We’re happy to see Travis back in the ring. I think we’ll see a stronger Travis Scott, as he’s gained about fifteen pounds of muscle while he’s been out. We have big plans for him in 2016, so a win tonight, in front of his hometown crowd, will be integral to those plans.”
Tickets are priced at $60 for VIP, and $30 for general admission, and are available via the WFC website at www.worldfightingchampionships.com.
Doors to the Atrium at the Belle of Baton Rouge open at 7:00 p.m. on fight night. First bell is at 8:00 p.m.
