According to online reports the WBC has stripped Adrien BronerĀ of his lightweight title due to the fact that he has not defended it since February 2013 when Broner took on and defeated Gavin Rees.
However, the WBC has chosen to give the title to rising star and WBA interim lightweight champion Omar Figueroa without having to fight for it and surpassing number one contender Daniel Estrada.
