Bigger and better fets are yet another step closer for Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez who was recently ranked #1 at 112 pounds by the World Boxing Council to face Akira Yaegashi whom once turned down a fight with Gonzalez.
The news couldn’t come at a better time for Gonzalez’ manager Silvio Conrado.
“Roman will get the chance to fight for everything in 2014 and find a belt at 112 pounds that would make his third title in a third division,” said Conrado. “That’s something that Alexis Arguello did and made history in Nicaraguan boxing.”
Aside from the WBC’s ranking Gonzalez has been ranked at #1 by The Ring and # 2 by the WBO.
