Pacquiao_Algieri_weighin_141121_006aChris Algieri has a master’s degree in clinical nutrition, and has been programming his diet throughout the entire training camp. Algieri even tweeted a picture of his pre-meal weigh-in. When it was finally time to step on the scale, to the surprise of many, Algieri did not make weight the first time around. He weighed in 0.2 pounds over the weight limit. The Algieri camp was given two hours to strip down to 144lbs, but they did not seem too overly concern. They were confident Algieri would easily strip the excess weight before the two-hour limit.

As time subsided, Algieri stepped on the scales once more, and weighed in at 143.6lbs. His weight actually dropped below Pacquiao’s official weight at 143.8lbs. Both fighters appear to be in phenomenal shape, and feel ready to put on a great show in Macau, China.

Pacquaio’s camp has explained if they are victorious against Algieri they plan to move down to the light welterweight division. Pacquiao had no issues with making weight today, and believes he will also have no issues making the 140lb limit.
