Amanda Serrano is always looking to face the best competition out there today, defend her title and fight other champions but in reality it doesn’t always go that way with politics and fighter’s needs and demands. With Amanda’s recent fluctuation between weight classes (going from 126 and 135 pounds), I asked Amanda what she thought about a possible fight with Canadian Jelena Mrdjenovich, who holds the WBC crown at 126 pounds and she felt that it would be a good fight for either her or her sister (Cindy) and that they would be victorious but say Mrdjenovich will not fight outside of Canada.
“She (Mrdjenovich) never leaves Canada and my trainer isn’t allowed there,” said Amanda. “We have traveled, she doesn’t. If she would take the chance and leave home like most of us do, it would be a good win for [either of] us.”
