On July 6th American Light mIddleweight Demetrius “ Boo Boo “  Andrade  (19-0 13 KO ) will step into the ring to challenge WBO Light Middleweight Champion Zaurbek Baysangurov (28-1 20 KO ). This will be Andrade’s first title shot and will be held in Baysangurov’s back yard  at the Sports Palace in  Kiev, Ukraine. As Baysangurov is 9-1 with 6 ko’s in his last 10 fights beating him will be no easy task for Andeade. Baysangurov looks to defend his title for the third time since stopping  Mike Miranda in the First round to win the Interm title back in 2011.

As the Abel Sanchez trained fighter ( Baysangurov ) rarely fights outside of the Ukraine, this will be undoubtedly Baysangurov’s coming out party as well. Beating Andrade would potentially get him the recognition he needs to get on American Network Television and the fights he wants against the elite fighters of the Light Middleweight division.

Andrade is no stranger to big fights, recently beating Freddy Hernandez on Showtime by Unanimous Decision. In 2007 Andrade was the World Amatuer champion, and represented the USA in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.  However the 25 year old Rhode Island Pugilist will need nerves of steel when entering the ring against Baysangurov. Andrade has a lot of hype behind him so not only does he need to win, he needs to do it in an impressive fashion.

In an already stacked and talent loaded Light Middleweight division, Andrade wants to show the world that he is not only ready to fight  big names, but he is in fact a big name himself.  Does Andrade have what it takes to compete on a high level or will he  get knocked back on his journey down the yellow brick road? Can the Amatuer World Champion add WBO champion to his resumé?  A lot of questions will be answered July 6th in Kiev.
