LR_MEDIAWORKOUT-ADRIEN BRONER-8874It looks as if we should now be calling Adrien Broner “About Breakfast” because he just missed weight for his fight vs Ashley Theophane at the initial weigh-in. Broner weighed in at 140.4 pounds while Theophane made weight.

Broner stripped naked in order to make the weight but to no avail, he was still just under a half pound overweight putting his WBA Super lightweight title in jeopardy if he cannot make the 140-pound limit in two hours.

This is just yet another sign of the severe career regression that Adrien has suffered since that Maidana loss in late 2013. For a guy to talk so much trash leading up to the fight to not even make weight is just unacceptable, especially a fighter in the class of Broner.

Not a lot can be said about Broner at this point, as this isn’t the first time that Broner has weighed in heavy on the scales. Back in the summer of 2012, Broner was stripped of his 130-pound belt for missing weight by over 3 pounds and moved up in weight to lightweight where he won a belt.

The issue with this situation is the fact that Broner has taken two losses above 140 pounds already and has proven to us that he is no match for fighters who consistently throw punches and have a bit of pop. Broner can’t just move back up to welterweight where guys such as Keith Thurman, Danny Garcia, and Errol Spence would love the opportunity to face a big name like A.B.

Not to mention the weight problems, but A.B is set to turn himself in after the fight according to multiple sources for his alleged involvement in an assault and robbery outside of a bowling alley in January. So “The Problem” has a few to deal with himself, plus the fact that Floyd can’t stop saying unpleasant things in interviews about his former “Lil bro.” Claiming Adrien was an alcoholic six months ago and so on.

So, all is not good in A.B land, and it will continue to be like that if he doesn’t get his act together.
