Kell Brook- Amir KhanKell Brook made short work of his domestic rival, Frankie Gavin, stopping him in 6 rounds. So, the attention turns to him facing a world class opponent in his next fight. Already he has taken care of Jo Jo Dan and the before mentioned Gavin, so anything near that level would be disappointing, and Brook agrees.

“I want big fights and I want people to take me seriously,” Brook reporters after beating Gavin. “I am world champion. I want to prove that I’m No.1 in this division.

So with a return eye in the summer, Brook is looking for big names and, in particular, a clash with Brandon Rios.

“I’m after big names in the summer. I’m fit and well and it’s a short window you have as a fighter, so I want to bring some big dough in. Rios is a big name. He will come to fight. It is what we need to get the bigger fights,” Brook said.

But what about Amir Khan, a fight that is the biggest fight to make in England? Khan fought the night before Brook and decisioned a game Chris Algieri. Brook feels Khan has a load of excuses and isn’t sure what else he has to do to make the fight materialize.

“Winning the belt I thought it [the fight with Khan] would happen,” Brook said. “It is boring. He said ‘win a world title’ but I’ve done all that, and he has still not picked the phone up yet even talk about terms. I’m doing my own things.”

Brook feels Khan would net a career high payday, so why isn’t Khan jumping at the chance to fight him in front of a many thousands in a soccer stadium in England? Brook says fear.

“He must be scared, why wouldn’t he fight in an open aired arena against me for a load of money with a belt on the line?”
