De La Hoya to Mayweather: Look, I’m never coming back!

Oscar De La Hoya -Floyd Mayweather Jr.Former six-division world champion Oscar De La Hoya quickly responded to Floyd Mayweather Jr’s offer for a rematch for what is supposed to be Mayweather’s final fight in September.

Like a majority of the Golden Boy’s comeback rumors, it ended with De La Hoya himself denying them, speaking on Boxing Hype’s Instagram.

“So I hear Floyd wants to give me a rematch now. Our first fight had a rematch clause; it had to take place within the year, he retired at a year and one day.

“Look, I’m retired, I’m happy, I’m content, I’m never coming back,” De La Hoya emphatically stated.

He may never return to the ring, but he’s never going to be away from the sport of boxing.
