The pride of Tijuana and the first Mexican boxer to win world championships in four different weight classes, future Hall of Famer Erik El “Terrible” Morales will greet fans at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, Calif. prior to the January 11 edition of ShoBox: The New Generation featuring rising star Ronnie Rios vs. former World Champion Rico Ramos and the return of Coachella’s own Randy Caballero.
The legacy of Tijuana, Baja California’s Erik “El Terrible” Morales (52-8, 36 KO’s) has been set for years thanks to his wins over boxing superstars and world champions Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao, Marco Antonio “Baby Faced Assassin” Barrera, Paulie Ayala, Kevin “The Flushing Flash” Kelley, Daniel Zaragoza and Junior Jones, along with his world titles in four weight classes. He has defeated 15 different world champions during the course of his career and his trilogy against fellow Mexican legend and Three-Division World Champion Barrera being considered one of greatest in the history of the sport. Most recently, it was his stirring return in 2010 after nearly three years away from the sport that captivated the boxing world.
“El Terrible” will be on hand to meet fans, sign autographs and take pictures from 7:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. inside theFantasySpringsSpecialEventsCenter. The meet and greet is open to the public with the purchase of a ticket to the event.
The January 11 edition of ShoBox: The New Generation is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and sponsored by Corona. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. PT on fight night with the first bell sounding at 6:30 p.m. PT. The ShoBox: The New Generation telecast will air live on SHOWTIME beginning at 11:15 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the West Coast).
