Gabriel Rosado It has been over ten months since the last time Gabriel Rosado (21-9, 13 KO’s)stepped into the boxing ring. He was last seen losing a tenth round technical knockout to David Lemieux and has ventured elsewhere but not too far from boxing.

Rosado had a part in the upcoming “Rocky” spin-off titled “Creed.” Besides promoting the upcoming boxing flick, Rosado has been awaiting his ring return and was dead set on an upcoming bout with James “Mandingo Warrior” Kirkland (32-2, 28 KO’s) in December. Negotiations went well for fight and the two sides had appeared to come to terms over a week ago but Kirkland recently has pulled out due to being unhappy with the money he would receive for the fight which has left Rosado disappointed and waiting to see what will come next.

“Kirkland and I had a signed contract [to fight] on HBO boxing [on] December, 19th. I just got news he pulled out of the fight! The fight was scheduled to be in Los Angeles,” stated Rosado via Twitter. “I’m very disappointed in Kirkland pulling out of the fight again. December 29th was more than enough time to get in shape and give the fans a show!”

In his last five fights, Rosado has gone 0-4 with one no contest. On paper that would look bad but considering the level of opposition he faced, his ability to hang in there and put up a good fight he deserves to be in the ring against the top twenty fighters in the division and there are several names in the top twenty that do not have any upcoming fights. Possible match ups with Austin Trout, Glen Tapia or Willie Nelson would do well for Rosado, and a win would definitely do him well. One thing is for sure; he wants to stay active.
